What is the difference between the target and the goal?

Learning Growblocks terminology

Plan goal

Your plan goal is manually set when from the assumptions tab.

  • Plan goals are visually represented in your graphs as a pink line.
  • Your performance (past and projected) is compared to your plan goal - this can be seen in the delta and signals (red and green) across the app.
  • A plan goal refers to a set of goals that are established for each key metric in your GTM (Go-To-Market) engine. This includes every combination of segments within your key metrics. Each key metric you have defined in your GTM engine will have its own plan goal. You can view these plan goals in the details view of the Swimlane or Data Flow view within the Growblocks app.
  • Plan goals are set for both volume metrics (e.g. Leads, Opportunities) and processing metrics (Conversion Rates and ACVs), as well as for every dimension included in your model, based on the rolling average leading up to the projection date.
  • Plan goals are set and are not dynamically updated. You can choose to update your plan goal at any stage from the Assumptions tab.

Target

The target in Growblocks represents a top down target, signifying the value you aim to achieve over the plan period. The target is a visual guide only.

  • Targets can be set for Total Revenue and Role Productivity.
  • The target is visually represented in your graph as an orange line. However, it's important to note that it does not affect your plan goals, projections, or deltas or signals.
  • The total revenue target is set in plan settings.
  • The role productivity target is set in people on each role.
