Your plans are the central element of the Growblocks platform. They represent your GTM engine performance (past and future) over a period of time. In this article, we will explain how you can create a plan.
When creating a plan in the Growblocks platform, you have two ways to do this:
- From the “Plans” tab
- Duplicate an existing plan
1. From the "Plans" Tab
In the "Plans" tab, click the "+" symbol located on the right-hand side of the tab.
This action will open the “Create new plan” form, providing you with the necessary fields to set up your plan. Let's take a closer look at the details you need to fill in.
Title: Choose a name for your plan. We recommend making the title as specific as possible. This name will help you identify your plan easily.
Description (Optional): Provide a brief description of what your plan is about. While this field is optional, it can be valuable for additional context.
Date range: The plan duration determines the maximum time period you can view within your plan. Select the period that aligns with your needs. This setting is unique to each plan.
Starting revenue (Optional): Specify the initial revenue number that your plan begins with. This serves as your base revenue at the plan's start date. Remember, starting revenue is specific to each plan.
If no value is entered, the Plan will automatically pick up your starting revenue based on your data.
Target (Optional): This is your top-down revenue target, signifying the revenue you are trying to achieve by the end of your plan duration. If you have monthly targets, you can edit and set them individually in the "Edit by month" section.
In the advanced settings Planning date: It is the point from which your plan goal is calculated. The plan goal calculations use actuals up until this date. By default, the planning date is the set to the last completed month of actuals.
Set as primary plan: Setting a plan as the primary plan helps you and others find it easier in the Plans tab. You can only have one primary plan.
2. Duplicating an existing plan
If you prefer to duplicate an existing plan, follow these steps:
- Start by selecting the plan you wish to duplicate from your list of plans.
- Open “Plan settings” on the top right of your plan.
- At the bottom you will see an option to “Duplicate”. Click on this choice to initiate the duplication process.
- After selecting "Duplicate," you will have the opportunity to modify the title of the copied plan.
- Finally, click "Save" to confirm your changes and create a new plan based on the duplicated version.
